About Cassidy
Cassidy Young is a Maryland-based illustrator, educator, and visual storyteller.
Her work is rooted in observation, place, memory, and the small details that help people feel connected to the world around them. Through drawing, painting, and digital media, she explores architecture, everyday spaces, travel, community, and the quiet visual moments that often go unnoticed.
Cassidy holds an MFA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design, an MA in Art Education from Indiana University, and a BA in Studio Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her background as an educator continues to shape the way she approaches creative work: with curiosity, clarity, care, and an interest in making ideas more accessible and meaningful.
An avid traveler and urban sketcher, Cassidy is especially drawn to the way sketching can slow down an experience and turn attention into connection. Whether documenting a street corner, a historic building, a garden path, or an ordinary moment in a new place, she sees travel journaling as both a creative practice and a way of understanding culture, community, and sense of place more deeply.
Her creative interests include illustration, visual storytelling, urban sketching, arts education, community-based art, and work that helps people notice, learn, remember, and connect.
